Senior editor Joe Kuczynski from Photonics, interviews Javier Elizalde, COO at Wooptix
Photonics Media interviews Wooptix, covering the company’s history, current products, and future plans. In this video, we highlight the final question about our next steps. Here you can find the video transcription.

So Wooptix has been sort of built around this wavefront sensor born in 2016 and spawning its first patent. Now there’s nearly a dozen families of patents for the company. So, obviously there’s a growth and success there. My blanket question here is: What’s next for Wooptix?
Javier Elizalde
Wooptix was founded in 2016, which marked the beginning of our journey as a company. However, the origins of our technology date back much further. Our CEO made the initial breakthrough in wavefront phase imaging (WFPI) in the early 2000s. Since then, we’ve continually refined and optimized this technique, leading up to 2016 when we officially established Wooptix with the goal of developing our first manufacturing products.
Today, our aim is to have scientists and companies explore our products, as we believe that our unique approach to capturing wavefront phase holds incredible potential. By trying our technology, they may discover new applications in areas we haven’t yet considered.
Looking to the future, we don’t intend to create products for every industry. Instead, our focus is on maturing our core units, Phemet and SEBI RT1000, and developing select applications within the semiconductor sector. While our phase camera and semiconductor equipment are currently in distribution, our long-term vision is to continue innovating in this space, delivering products that genuinely advance wavefront phase imaging technology.
